Lorenzo Lomartire begann im Alter von acht Jahren mit dem Cello, parallel zu Studien in Kontrapunkt und Komposition. Er besuchte das Battaglini Staatliche Wissenschaftliche Gymnasium in Tarent und vertrat das Institut in nationalen Wettbewerben in Mathematik und Physik mit hervorragenden Ergebnissen. Den Schulabschluss erlangte er ein Jahr früher mit Auszeichnung im Alter von 16 Jahren; er ist im Nationalen Verzeichnis der Exzellenz des italienischen Ministeriums für Bildung und Verdienst geführt. Während der Schulzeit studierte Lorenzo Komposition bei M° Riccardo Panfili, unter dessen Anleitung er am Conservatorio di Musica in Monopoli seinen Bachelor-Abschluss mit Auszeichnung erlangte. Seine Studien setzte er am Conservatorio fort, wobei er Cello in Tarent und Orchesterleitung in Bari bei Giovanni Pelliccia studierte; beide Abschlüsse schloss er im Juli 2024 mit Auszeichnung im Alter von 19 Jahren ab. Während seines Dirigierstudiums hatte er die Gelegenheit, Beethovens Sinfonien sowie Griegs Klavierkonzert zu dirigieren. Bei seiner Abschlussprüfung dirigierte er die Egmont Ouvertüre von Beethoven und Tschaikowskys Fünfte Sinfonie. In der dreifachen Rolle als Cello-Soloist, Komponist und Dirigent nahm Lorenzo am Konzert Passati Presenti des Bari Conservatory für das Exultet-Festival in der Kathedrale von Bari teil. Zudem trat er als Solist mit dem Orchester des Paisiello Conservatory Taranto und mit dem Taranto Opera Festival Orchestra auf. Gegenwärtig studiert er den postgradualen Master in Interpretation zeitgenössischer Musik für Cello bei Luigi Piovano am Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rom. Seit 2020 besucht Lorenzo Cello-Kurse von David Geringas an der Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, beim Usedom Music Festival sowie an der Blackmore International Music Academy. Darüber hinaus nahm er an Meisterkursen bei Thomas Demenga, Leonid Gorokhov, Enrico Dindo, Martti Rusi, Helmar Stieler, Enrico Bronzi und Mihovil Karuza teil. Lorenzo Lomartire ist der Gewinner des Lions Club Taranto Poseidon Prize 2024 sowie des Stipendiums Chigiana - Mediocredito Centrale - Banca BdM 2025. Er tirtt regelmäßig als Kammermusiker auf und studiert derzeit Kammermusik bei Ivan Rabaglia an der Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Die singapurische Pianistin Rae Pung studierte Klavier bei namhaften Pädagogen wie Ingrid Fliter, Boris Petrushansky, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Andrzej Jasinski und Piotr Paleczny. Ihre musikalische Ausbildung begann sie im Alter von vier Jahren bei Thomas Hecht und später bei Albert Tiu. Rae wurde an zahlreichen renommierten Institutionen aufgenommen und setzte ihr Studium schließlich am Oberlin Conservatory of Music in den USA, der Fondazione Accademia Internazionale di Imola in Italien und der Purcell School in Großbrittanien fort. 2024 veröffentlichte Rae ihr Debütalbum „Piano Sonatas“ sowie mehrere Albums, die in der Spotify-Playlist „Classical New Releases“ vertreten waren. Zu ihrer Diskografie gehört auch „Wisteria Lights“ (2026). Angetrieben von ihrem ausgeprägten Gemeinschaftssinn, arbeitete sie mit Orchestern weltweit zusammen, darunter das Philharmonische Orchester von Alicante, das Dohnányi-Symphonieorchester Budapest, das Orchestra Filharmonica della Calabria, das Donau-Symphonieorchester, das Toruń-Symphonieorchester, das Orchestra of Music Makers, das Orquesta de Cámera, das Akademische Symphonieorchester der Nationalphilharmonie der Ukraine und das Oberlin Contemporary Ensemble. Ihre Leidenschaft für die Vermittlung von Musik führte zu Beiträgen in internationalen Medien wie der Straits Times, der Business Times, dem Vale Magazine, Bresciaoggi, Todo Alicante, der Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Telewizja Polska, Lianhe Zaobao, dem Musik Magazine, Teen World of Arts, Interlude.hk, The Star, Ipoh Echo, Ritmo Magazine, Modern Classical Music Magazine und Murcia Today. Ihre Werke erreichten ein weltweites Publikum über Radiosender und Rundfunkplattformen wie Symphony 92.4FM, Radio Armazém, Planet Network, Berlin On Air, Tuweb TV und Radio Criativa 10. Rae gewann Preise bei zahlreichen Wettbewerben und Auszeichnungen, darunter der Nuova Coppa Pianisti Wettbewerb, das Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Senior Piano Scholarship, der Val Tidone Klavierwettbewerb, der V. Internationale Subkarpaten-Chopin-Klavierwettbewerb, der VIII. Internationale Chopin-Wettbewerb Budapest, der XIII. Volodymyr Krainev Klavierwettbewerb, der XII. Internationale Klavierwettbewerb für junge Pianisten in Gedenken an Vladimir Horowitz, der Imola City Award, der XXI. Internationale Frederick Chopin Klavierwettbewerb für Kinder und Jugendliche, der Jeune Chopin International Klavierwettbewerb, der Young Pianist of the North Upon Tyne Wettbewerb, der Piano Island Wettbewerb und der Hong Kong International Piano Open Wettbewerb. Rae war als Klavierlehrerin an der Oberlin Conservatory tätig und unterrichtete mehrere Jahre beim Ethan Project, einer familiengeführten gemeinnützigen Organisation, die sich der Aufklärung über Autismus durch Musikpädagogik widmet. Rae ist die künstlerische Leiterin des internationalen Klavierwettbewerbs und -festivals Virtù d’Arte. Außerdem studierte sie Dirigieren bei Marco Boni, dem Dirigenten des Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra in Amsterdam.

The Lithuanian cellist and conductor David Geringas belongs to the musical elite of today. An unusually broad repertoire from the early Baroque to the contemporary is testament to the flexibility and curiosity of the artist. His intellectual rigor, his stylistic versatility, his melodic feeling, and the sensuousness of his tone have brought him praise the world over. The Rostropovich pupil and gold-medal winner of the 1970 Tchaikovsky Competition can now look back on a career that has spanned decades. David Geringas has performed world-wide with some of the leading orchestras, and important conductors of our time. His discography, which now approaches 100 CDs, includes many that have been honored with important prizes, including the Grand Prix du Disque for his recording of the 12 cello concertos of Luigi Boccherini, the Diapason d’Or d’Année for the chamber music of Henri Dutilleux, and the prize of the year from the Deutschen Schallplattenkritik for his recording of the cello concertos of Hans Pfitzner as well as for his recording of the works for cello and piano by Alfred Schnittke. David Geringas has been awarded in the years 2013 and 2014 with the “Echo Klassik”. In 2013 he received the award for best chamber music recording of the 20th/21st Century (Braunfels/Strauss, Profil Edition Günter Hänssler) and in 2014 for the best chamber music recording of the 19th century (“Pohádka”, C2 Hamburg / ES DUR).Prominent in his career as an artist are the regular releases of outstanding CDs. Between 2008 and 2011, eight new CDs were released. Among them are two world-premieres (“David’s Song” and “Discorsi” , Profil Edition Günter Hänssler ), the works for piano and cello by Sergei Rachmaninoff (Hänssler Classics), of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (Profil Edition Günter Hänssler) and Frederic Chopin (Sony Music Entertainment, as well as the complete works Violoncello and Piano by Ludwig van Beethoven (Hänssler Classic) with the pianist Ian Fountain – a recording that has been awarded the “Editor’s Choice” by GRAMOPHONE. The CD of the cycle “Bach Plus”, that includes all the six Bach Suites for violoncello, introduced with fragments from various contemporary composers was released in October 2011 and was hailed by the critic. Well-known contemporary composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina, Ned Rorem, Peteris Vasks and Erkki-Sven Tür have dedicated cello concertos to him. He has premiered many works of the Russian and Lithuanian avant-garde in the West. In 2002, he gave the world premiere of the Concerto in DO by Anatolijus Senderovas which was dedicated to him, and won the European Composers Prize in Berlin. In 2012, David Geringas performed three world premieres, Arvydas Malcys’ Concerto “In Memoriam” in Kaunas, the Concerto per Violoncello by Silvia Colasanti in Milan, and the Cello Concerto by Alexander Raskatov in Amsterdam. As conductor, David Geringas appears regularly in Germany and abroad, and appears frequently in a dual role as cellist and conductor. Besides the invitations from the citadels of West and East European music centers (Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Auditoriun Parco della musica Roma, Wiener Musikverein, Tonhalle Zürich, Berliner Philharmonie), among others, he has received invitations from Asia and the USA. From 2005 to 2008, he was chief guest conductor for the Kyushu Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2007 he had his debut at the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra und the China Philharmonic Orchestra. In February 2009, he made his debut as conductor with the Moscow Philharmonic in Moscow and in 2015 with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra in St. Petersburg. His opera conducting debut followed in 2010 with Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin in Klaipeda, Lithuania. In 2015 David Geringas gave a successful debut as a musical director and conductor of the ballet “Egle , the Queen of Grass Snakes “ by Eduardas Balsys in Vilnius. David Geringas has for decades taught a world-famous cello class from which have come such cello stars as Gustav Rivinius, Jens Peter Maintz, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Monika Leskovar, Tatiana Vassiljeva, Jing Zhao, Johannes Moser, Maximilian Hornung and Sol Gabetta. For his championing of Lithuanian music and composers, David Geringas has won the highest awards of his homeland. He was awarded the Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse of Germany for his achievements as musician and cultural ambassador for the country on the international musical scene. David Geringas is honorary professor at the Moscow Conservatory, St.Petersburg Rimski-Korsakov Conservatory and at the Central Conservatory in Beijing, as well as having received an honorary doctorate from the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy. In the winter semester 2014/2015 David Geringas was visiting professor at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. On the occasion of his 70th birthday in 2016 David Geringas was celebrating his anniversary year with concerts in Siena, Rheingau Festival, Enescu Festival, Usedom Festival, Berlin Philharmonie, Vilnius, Moscow and St.Petersburg. In 2018, several jury presidencies in prestigious competitions such as Schoenfeld International Cello Competition in Harbin or George Enescu Cello Competition in Bucharest and the appointment as Meritorious Artist of the Musical Arts of the International Union of Musical Arts of Russia by the Rector of the Moscow Conservatory and President of the the International Union of Musical Arts of Russia – Alexander Sokolov. Professor David Geringas teaches exclusive at the Blackmore International Music Academy in Berlin.

Geringas Chamber Orchestra was established on 70th anniversary of legendary cellist and conductor David Geringas in Berlin in 2016. Key idea was to offer young and talented musicians an opportunity of performing with orchestra under primary direction of David Geringas. The idea was promoted with great enthusiasm not least by musicians of Berlin orchestras, respected chamber musicians and international award winners. The first CD & DVD recording followed in 2020. The chamber orchestra has its big debut at the Elbe Philharmonic Hall on 7th June 2021. More than 20 concerts followed in 2021-2022 season across Europe. The ensemble hosted concerts at Palais de la Musique et des Congrès, in Strasbourg and at the Alsace-Moselle Memorial in Schirmeck. Concert tours will take the orchestra to Japan, China and South Korea. Concert series will take place in Berlin, in Munich and Leipzig. The Lithuanian composer Donatas Prusevičius dedicated the ensemble “Hommage à Beethoven” that was premiered in 2021 at the Usedom Music Festival. The founder and director of the orchestra, David Geringas, is regularly in spotlight on national and international podiums and often combines roles of cellist and conductor. In addition to the strongholds of Western and Eastern European music centers (Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Auditorium Parco della Musica Roma, Wiener Musikverein, Tonhalle Zurich, Berlin Philharmonic, etc.), invitations also took him to Asia and the USA. From 2005 to 2008 he was Chief Guest Conductor of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra Japan. In 2007 David Geringas made his conductor debut with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the China Philharmonic Orchestra. In February 2009 he made his debut as a conductor with Moscow Philharmonic in Moscow and in 2015 with orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. He made his operatic debut in 2010 with Tchaikovsky's “Eugene Onegin” in Klaipeda / Lithuania. In 2015 David Geringas made his successful debut in Vilnius as musical director and conductor of the ballet “Egle, the Viper Queen” by Eduardas Balsys. Since 1997 David Geringas has been a permanent guest conductor of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, with which he successfully toured in Italy, France, Spain, Finland, Costa Rica and China.
